Ed Levy Board Member
Edward (Ed) has had an extensive career in the Excess and Surplus Lines Insurance Industry. Ed most recently was Regional Vice-President of Risk Placement Services, Inc. (RPS) for the Western Binding Region from 2008-2018. RPS acts as a traditional wholesale broker, managing general agent, and program manager and has access to all major excess/surplus lines carriers. RPS, which was formed in 1997, now has more than 70 locations throughout the United States and was ranked as the largest MGA/underwriting manager by Business Insurance magazine.
After graduating from Tulane University in 1978 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Ed began his E&S career working for DVUA, a large Wholesale Broker / MGA headquartered in the Philadelphia area. In 1988, Ed obtained his MBA from Temple University. Ed became COO of DVUA in 1995 and President in 2004. In 2005 this business was sold and Ed took an interim position with MacNeill. In 2008 Ed moved to RPS. Ed has his CPCU and ASLI and was very active in both NASPSLO and AAMGA. Ed has been a board member of the NAPSLO Derek Hughes Education Foundation since 2007 and was the President of the AAMGA in 2017 during which Ed lead the charge to merge the AAMGA and NAPSLO into WSIA. In 2018, Ed served as a Past President of the Merged Organization.
Ed presently is a board member of Openforce, an insurtech business with a focus on the gig economy and independent contractors working in this area. Ed is also a board member of Capacity Insurance Company, a Florida admitted multiline carrier.
Ed has many interests including skiing, golfing, hiking, wine, and spending time with his wife of 34 years, Jami.
